Artificial. General. Intelligent.

Intelligence has evolved from scripted programs, to language models, to agents. Artificial People go beyond. An AP runs continuously, maintaining memory, goals, and context over time, so intelligence is applied broadly rather than one task at a time. Language models speak. Agents execute. Artificial People collaborate — adapting through experience, coordinating across domains, and working alongside humans as persistent counterparts.

Evolution

The road to general intelligence.

AI has progressed from scripted systems like ELIZA, to narrow mastery with Deep Blue, to voice assistants like Siri, to fluent language models such as ChatGPT, and now to SaaS agents that execute workflows across tools. Each step expanded the scope of intelligence — from task-bound systems to increasingly general ones. Artificial People emerge at this inflection point: systems designed to persist, remember, and adapt across domains, applying intelligence continuously rather than one task at a time.

Distinction

Agents and Artificial People.

Agents act when invoked. They execute a task, return a result, and stop. Their intelligence is applied moment to moment, bounded by the workflow that calls them. Artificial People persist. An AP runs continuously, carrying memory, goals, and context across time. Instead of completing isolated tasks, it owns ongoing responsibilities — learning from experience, coordinating across domains, and collaborating with people as a stable counterpart. Language models speak. Agents execute. Artificial People collaborate.
